Our mission is to provide a stable home for each mother and child that will provide the love, attention, education and emotional support they need while teaching them to use their gifts, faith, and talent to make their world a better place.
Our mission is to care for the forgotten, those that are abandoned, abused, or have no place to call home: adolescent mothers that are particularly at risk. We want to change the mother and child's life so they can, in turn, make their world a better place. We want to love the unloved, care for the forgotten and save the lost.
LeGrandMission will bring groups from the U.S. to help build Regalos de Dios , along with Costa Rican volunteers and board members. We will also employ all local Costa Ricans to build and run the home. Our trips will combine work, adventure, service, and community while showing love and compassion to those who need it most.
At some point in our lives we all have probably said, "Why doesn't someone do something about ____." (You fill in the blank) The fact is we rarely tend to act on that initial thought.
We found that there is a need in Costa Rica, a place we love, to care for our most vulnerable: abused, abandoned and homeless adolescent mothers and their babies. This is a need in an area where we are able and willing to help, so we acted.
Currently we have 2 finished homes and administrative building. The 2 homes can house 10 mothers and their babies. We have renovated the kitchen in the administrative building for meals. We are working with PANI (Costa Rican child services) to be approved to care for 10 teenage mothers and their babies. We have been approved by the Ministry of Health and hold a 5-year license.
Additional homes will be built, as needed. We own a 5.7 acre property in San Pedro de Poas.
Every mother and child deserve a loving home in which to grow.
We will make the world a better place, one child at a time, protecting the vulnerable and caring for the forgottten.
Our initial fundraising goal is $1.235 million
We closed on the property July 2022.

LeGrand means "The Great". LeGrandMission, or The Great Mission, is named for the Great Commission.
The founders of LeGrandMission were business owners until they moved to Central America in 2013 where they served as full time missionaries along with their 3 boys. The LeGrands served in Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize, Haiti and Bolivia. They moved back to the US in late 2016 and later formed LeGrandMission.
LeGrandMission was formed to be an independent organization to allow the freedom to go where the need is greatest and use our gifts and talents to our upmost ability, alongside anyone who feels the call to help.
